DOK.Incubator Selection Announced with 3 Nordic Projects
At Nordisk Panorama we are excited about our new partnership with DOK.Incubator. From 2016 Nordisk Panorama will host the final presentation of the DOK.Incubator films. DOK.Incubator is a well-established rough-cut stage workshop, offering individual mentorship for eight selected documentary projects focusing on dramaturgy, distribution and audience building.
The DOK.Incubator project selection is now ready and we’re happy to see that as many as 3 Nordic projects made it:
Kisilu: Before the Flood /UK, NO/ by Norwegian director Julia Dahr is a powerful story of a smallholder, who uses his camera to capture the impacts of climate change on the life of his village. YLE supported The Mayor of Nowhere /FI/BG/DE/ is a beautifully shot film capturing a deserted Bulgarian village on the border between the East and the West, exploiting the “massive influx” оf refugees in the local elections. A Danish team brings to the selection Tales of Female Desire, a rare humorous, yet cinematic authentic insight into female sexuality.
Check out the full project selection here.
The Nordic teams will work together with projects from all over Europe, to reach a truly international story, which will be able to meet audiences globally.
After 5 month of editing, targeting and distribution strategy designing, the nearly finished films from DOK.Incubator will be presented to the industry at Nordisk Panorama’s brand new international event DOK.Incubator Preview. Not only the event itself, but the whole collaboration, will be providing Nordic filmmakers, producers and broadcasters with new, exclusive stories and strategic partners for future projects, coming from around the world.

Twelve for the Future & NP Forum Join Forces
Twelve for the Future, a project driven co-production workshop for young Nordic documentary producers and directors organized by EDN, has joined forces with Nordisk Panorama Forum for Co-financing of Documentaries. The workshop aims at developing projects for international co-production, establishing a professional network for the participants as well as connecting Nordic talents and relevant financiers.
Twelve for the Future is focusing on project development, networking, presentation techniques and financing opportunities. Guided by experienced tutors and working in small groups, the workshop creates an informal atmosphere of knowledge and mutual inspiration, leading to encouraging discussions, feedback and new contacts.
The workshop programme is divided in 2 parts. The 1st part takes place 15-18 September in Southern Sweden, right before this year’s Nordisk Panorama Forum. As Twelve for the Future has joined forces with NP Forum, an observer seat has been reserved for all interested workshop participants for the two pitching days on 19-20 September. Furthermore a discount on the observer seat will be available for all Twelve for the Future participants who are newcomers to the Forum.
