The New Director for Nordisk Panorama Starts 4 May
The new managing director of Nordisk Panorama Søren Poulsen will take on the position from 4 may. The board is enthusiastic about the new director with whom they will work to continue the positive changes that have been put in motion in the past few years.
Chairman of the Nordisk Panorama board, Hrafnhildur Gunnarsdóttir, says: “It is with great excitement that the board of Nordisk Panorama welcomes Søren Poulsen. We were fortunate to have quite a number of very qualified applicants and we think Søren is extremely capable of working with us to bring the organisation forward and move into new terrains.”
Søren Poulsen originally graduated as a psychologist, but soon turned to film production at the documentary production company Film & Lyd in Copenhagen back in 1995. Since then Søren spent 8 years creating better conditions for film production as the director of the regional film centre Filmby Aarhus and The West Danish Film Fund. Søren comes to Nordisk Panorama from a job as Head of Innovation at VIA University College, where he has worked with film and storytelling in new innovative solutions addressing societal challenges.
Søren Poulsen states: ”It is with both enthusiasm and humbleness that I take over the position as director of Nordisk Panorama after Katrine Kiilgaard. Katrine and her team have done a tremendous job in making Nordisk Panorama the indispensable exponent and meeting place for Nordic short and documentary films. I am looking forward to heading a well trimmed Nordic festival which has continuously proved itself as the professional and dedicated forum for everyone who loves and works with Nordic documentaries and shorts. I am looking forward to being part of the promotion of significant Nordic stories. ”
Søren is taking over from Katrine Kiilgaard who ended her position at the end of March after 15 years in the organisation.
Nordisk Panorama – Nordic Short & Doc Film Festival will take place 18-23 September in Malmö, Sweden.
