The famous East German dissident Sascha Anderson lead a secret life. As leader of the underground art scene in former East Berlin he was praised by friends and colleagues for his struggle for freedom of expression. At the same time he played a double role as one of the most skilful informers of the Stasi, the East German secret police. Acting on orders from the Stasi, he betrayed his closest friends and his women. Now a former friend returns to Berlin and finally gets to know the real Sascha, who is not the man he thought he knew.
