Tikopia

Director Thomas Lien's visit to the island of Tikopia, one of the last traditional Polynesian islands, made a great impact on him. Thomas formed a strong friendship with John, the son of one of the chiefs. In 2003, Tikopia was hit by the strongest cyclone ever measured in the Pacific. Because of the islanders' survival skills no one died but their houses and belongings were washed away.
