Maria is an actress skilled in playing with other people's feelings. She is disappointed about not having reached her private and professional goals. She learns that she has been given a title role she has been hoping for. She wants to remodel her character using her nutty cousin Frida as model. Their meeting ends in catastrophe as Frida exposes Maria's egoism, manipulation and egocentricity. Based on a short story by Tove Jansson.
