Growing up on a horsefarm in Iceland, the young boy Siggi develops an extraordinary friendship with a wild foal, which he trains in secret to share and even act out his fantasies. It repeatedly turns up to take part in the daily adventures of the children. But this is a working horsefarm, and after the fall round-up, the horse is to be sold. Before leaving the farm it saves Siggi´s life and alters both their futures.
