The empty locker room is waiting. It is waiting to be filled with boys. Boys arrive. Shirts and shorts are handed out to them. They talk about the match, swearing and bragging. They get pepped-up. The air is filled with expectation. They leave. After the match they return, in high spirits or disappointed, dirty and tired. Their coaches praise and criticise. They take their sports shirts and shorts off and get dressed in their own clothes. They leave the locker room. Empty again.
