Two generations meet in spite of their differences. Pernille and her grandfather, both tormented by loneliness, are on a journey through the desolate Jutlandic landscape in Denmark. Difficulties force them to face their feelings for each other. Pernille feels curiosity and love from a person whom she thought was interested only in himself. The old egotistic tyrant she had given up on turns out to be wise and full of insight.
