An animation of Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale. The visual starting point is in decoupages, or paper cut-outs, created by Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, through which she leads us into the world of fairy tales. The animated decoupages are mixed with computer graphics, actors and music. A unique and experimental film narrated by the Queen of Denmark.
