A portrait of the world-famous Danish ballet dancer, Nikolaj Hübbe. The film follows the ambitious dancer for three months at the New York City Ballet. Hübbe's friend and colleague, Ulrik Wivel, making his debut as a director, followed Hübbe closely: during gruelling practice sessions and on stage. Nikolaj Hübbe finds himself at a turning point. He has applied for the job of ballet master at the Royal Danish Ballet. Will he land the job? If not, what will he do?
