“Only a child can really live the life of an artist.” Isn’t making a portrait of an artist quite a risk – especially so if the subject is the child of the filmmaker himself? Documentary filmmaker Lasse Naukkarinen has made a film about the encounter of his visually talented son, Esa, and his encounters with colours, art materials and nature. The documentary follows Esa from age three to seven, showing the intensity and spontaneous sense of beauty of a child.
