The story of Renato Dello Strologo, a retired art dealer of Florence, Italy. Thirty-nine years ago, he bought an oil painting at a street market. Convinced that the painting was a genuine Velazquez, he spent decades collecting evidence to support his hunch. The film follows the painstakingly tiring and emotional process of proving the authenticity of the painting.
