World-traveller Kirsten Bang’s first long journey took her to East Greenland, where she worked as a nanny. She stayed until the Second World War forced her to return home. Sixty years later, the now ninety-year-old writer revisited the place and the people she wrote about in her first books and sees the incredible changes the small nation has undergone in her own lifetime. The distinguishing feature of the film is Kirsten Bang herself.
