In 1984, eleven mercury miners barricaded themselves hundreds of metres underground for eleven days and nights in Almadén (South of Spain) to demand better working conditions. Thirty-five years later, a local filmmaker searched amongst the miners' grandchildren to find eleven people willing to participate in a challenging film experiment to honour their grandparents. But could the spirit of the miners’ strike rise once more and help bring hope and social justice to a community isolated in their fate?
