The film is about a family that has toiled, lived, cried, and watched the sun rise and the rain trickle over fields and meadows for generations. It is a story of vulnerability and tradition, about people and livestock, and about surviving side by side with what puts food on the table. The family in the countryside once consisted of a mother and father, a son, and a daughter. When we enter the story, the son has been dead for ten years after an accident at the barn. The mother died several years before that.
