Olga sees her time coming to an end. She lives in what remains of a once lively island community off the Norwegian coast. She lives with her son, who occupies the attic, sustaining himself with songs and classical poetry. They preserve the community's memories and cultural history and live their lives in one of the outer reaches of culture and civilization.
