Most of the children and youths who seek help and shelter at Denmark’s only crisis centre for young people under the age of 18 have fled from disfunctional homes or other forms of neglect. Many are homeless. None of them feels that the authorities are listening. Jette Wilhelmsen, the founder of te Joanna House crisis centre and her staff provide shelter and support in communicating with relevant authorities.
