King of the Butterflies

A documentary about the pain and power of writing. Darryl Francis (55) was wrongfully accused as an accessory to armed robbery and murder in LA as a teenager. He was in prison 1986-2006. Darryl started writing comedy material in prison but the trauma of two decades of incarceration robbed him of the ability to concentrate. After ten years of failure, he turned to his friend Olaf, an Icelandic filmmaker, for help.
