1997 marked the twentieth anniversary of the death of Elvis Presley. Admiration of his music and image has reached almost religious proportions. The film follows 28-year-old Kjell Bjørnstad, a factory worker from a small valley in Norway, over a period of two years. His goal is to become the best Elvis impersonator in the world. But the road to stardom is filled with obstacles. After a series of plastic surgery operations and a series of devious managers, Kjell finally arrives in Memphis, Tennessee, to compete with more than 70 Elvises from around the world. Will his dream come true?
