For forty years, director Peter Torbjörnsson has been filming life in the village of San Fernando. What began as a portrait of a village became the story of Ninosca, a woman who broke away from her abusive husband and left the village for a life in Europe and the means to support her children. She has found a taste of the freedom she had been longing for. But her struggle for independence requires her to face her past in the machismo culture of Central America.
