The Reindeer Herder

Reiulf is an ethnic Norwegian who has dreamt of herding reindeer ever since he was a little boy. A Sámi woman herder on the island of Kvaløya retires and offers Reiulf her siida unit, the licence to herd reindeer. According to Norwegian law licences are restricted to persons of Sámi descent. Reiulf's wife was born a Sámi, and became the titular licensee. Another reindeer herder on Kvaløya, Per Kitti, is opposed to the newcomers. He takes his complaint to court.
