A family drama about secrets and repressed memories. Director Susanne Kovacs is the grandchild of Jewish Holocaust survivors and the daughter of a German mother and a Danish Jewish father. When Susanne was born, her grandparents saw her as a child of the enemy and a reminder of their tragic past. Years later, Susanne started asking difficult questions and discovered that the war had never really ended for the tormented family. The horrors of the past have always been present as an unspoken yet deafening trauma.
