The purpose of the film is to allow the intellectual elite of the Third World a voice - not only with regards to their own development, but also in a dialogue on themes as important to the West and North as to the South, refledting critical areas in modern society. Through the Naam movement in Burkina Faso, we learn about popular participation in democracy and the concept of development without destruction.
