Still Not There - A Quater Century of Self-Portraiture
For 25 years, Arno Rafael Minkkinen has explored his roots through a unique series of self-portraits. His photographs, though direct and unmanipulated, still manage to convey a spirit on the borderline of reality. Through Minkkinen, we see the naked body of man merging with the different elements of nature. The series soon becomes that endless search for the visible line which separates man from the primordial. Each photo seems to contain that ineffable essence capable of transforming our species into the thinking, individual beings we are today.
