Kayayo

Asana (10) and her little sister Isis (6) are sent hundreds of miles from their family to be kayayoes - living shopping carts for the women who shop at the markets in Ghana’s biggest city. Asana and Isis are among 10,000 girls who help support families by carrying heavy loads, risking physical injury. The girls live on the streets, exposed to abuse. They live apart from their families for years.
