Anton (87) inherited the family farm – now a ruin. The nine cows live as long as Anton does. They made a pact. Time is cyclical; life has its eternity through nature's repetitions. The Virginia creeper has pushed in the windows to the nice living room and winds on the furniture that no-one has sat in for decades. Family and neighbours love the old, stubborn man, but are also worried. For him and for the animals. Soon, the public authorities have to intervene. Anton puts the welfare state to the test, because he insists on taking care of himself.
