Nisse Andersson, an 87-year-old former sailor from Gothenburg, kept a diary that he called Nisse's Adventures on Land and at Sea. Reading excerpts, he recalls 40 years at sea at a time when global travel was a big deal. In various ports, we find Nisse visiting his 'ladies' or getting a kangaroo tattoo, and he shows us the wooden cockerels he carved while in his bunk. He remembers his great love, Brita, now lost to Alzheimer's. The theme is Nisse's lifelong search for intimacy. An animated documentary based on an interview made by documentarian Mia Blomgren.
