A hotel is a different kind of home. It can be a refuge, cul-de-sac, castle, nightmare or creative space. The first hotel was for protection against the elements. Weary travellers could find shelter and rest. But it was also a place for legends and anecdotes. Over ten years, Kristian Petri collected material for this film. Among the hotel guests we meet are Lars Norén, Stellan Skarsgård, Åsne Seierstad, Björn Andresen and Zengoro Houshi. The last part of a trilogy about travelling. The first two were The Atlantic and The Lighthouse.
