Jens Søndergaard grew up on the fringe of Jutland, and became the painter of our century who was the most capable of describing the Northwestern part of the country. A number of friends are telling about the late painter (1895 - 1957) and the film shows the similar motifs. In this way the film gives some understanding of Søndergaard’s interpretation of the drama between man and nature.
