Johanna Sigurdardottir became prime minister of Iceland after the financial crisis of 2008. She was the world's first openly gay prime minister. In her final days in office Johanna tries to get parliament to pass a new constitution that has been approved in a national referendum. Time is running out and the new chairman in Johanna's political party wants to postpone the vote. Johanna has to fight friends and foes to save the constitution. The outcome proves to be the biggest disappointment of her political life as she leaves parliament after 36 years of service.
