The Hitler Stones

Nazi Germany placed large orders for Swedish granite before and during World War II. It was to be used in the building of 'Germania', the new World Capital. Substantial deliveries were made but were discontinued after 1943 because of the war situation. Swedish quarries continued to cut building stone until the very end of the war. The granite was put into storage and Germany continued to make payments for some time. The 'Hitler Stones' were still in storage at the end of the war.
