Laura, 52, is wheelchair-bound. She has just lost her 20 years younger brother who was very dear to her. She quarrels with her family regarding her brother's funeral. To honour his wish, she decides to arrange a different kind of a funeral: to scatter his ashes at sea. With her assistant Anna, she steals the ashes from the urn at the crematorium.
