A Year of Hope

A group of boys from the streets of Manila, in the Philippines, get a chance to change their lives forever. They are offered a one-year stay at a rehabilitation centre on an island, far away from the city, which, in comparison to their past lives, is a true paradise. Many of the boys have been sexually abused, have a drug addiction and have been victims of domestic violence. We follow 13-year-old Tracy, who wishes more than anything to be a lady boy, and also 15-year-old Joshua, who has forgotten how to smile.
